Health and Safety Awareness - Course Description:

This Health and Safety Awareness course is designed to help those who are about to work, or have just begun to work in the industry to understand the potential hazards they face on site. It provides a practical summary of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, identifying the Delegate’s responsibility for looking after themselves and others, outlines the employer’s duties and explains what should be done if the worker thinks that anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.

The Health and Safety Awareness course is an ideal foundation for those wishing to obtain an industry accreditation card. A natural progression from this course would be to attend The Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

Health and Safety Awareness - Who should attend:

This course is suitable for people who have entered, or are about to enter, the construction and civil engineering industry.
 

C Skills Health and Safety Awareness - Qualification Detail:

This course gives construction operatives an awareness of health and safety and how it affects their daily role. It can be used as preparation training for the CSCS Health and Safety Test or as refresher training for operatives.

Candidates will gain qualification/certification in:

• Construction Skills Site Safety Plus certificate

• Their individual responsibilities for their own safety and the safety for others
• Typical construction hazards and how these are controlled
• How everyone can help achieve better practical standards of safety on site

C Skills Health and Safety Awareness - Method of Assessment:

This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussion, group-work and individual/group presentations. Candidates will be continuously assessed and will have to complete a multiple-choice test.
