Twyn yr Hydd House, a Victorian Grade II listed building, is the home of Neath Port Talbot College's Horticulture department. The 3ha (7 acre) grounds have been extensively landscaped, and feature gardens that have been constructed by various student groups.
The grounds include a walled garden designed by Ralph Hancock who also designed the roof garden at the Rockefeller Centre in New York and the Derry and Toms garden in Kensington, London.
The centre has a thriving commercial garden centre, which is open throughout the year for the sale of plants and garden sundries. The majority of the plant material is grown by students at the College.
