CILEX Law Apprenticeships (Levels 3, 5, & 6)

What is CILEX?
CILEX stands for the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and is one of three ways to enter the legal profession. There are currently 18,000 professionals that have a designation under CILEX from student to CILEX Lawyer. CILEX is a professional body with a Code of Conduct applicable to all members.

Description
CILEX apprenticeships offer a practical route into the legal profession, combining on-the-job training with academic learning whilst picking up a salary as you go! The apprenticeship is designed for those who want to pursue a career in law but with more flexibility, providing you with a quality work life - home life - study balance. Apprentices will work in legal departments/firms under the supervision of and assist qualified professionals. Learners can pause their CILEX journey at any time, picking up a qualification per level. The Level 3 provides paralegal status with Level 5 and 6 providing learners with Advanced Paralegal and CILEX Lawyer status, respectively. Once you have completed the Level 6, you will become a specialist lawyer in an area of law, of your choice and you can even aim to become a Judge!

Learners will also become part of the CILEX Community through their membership, learning and collaborating with those on who are also on their CILEX journey.

Progression Opportunities
Learners can study all three levels but must complete them in ascending order. The only exemption is where a learner has an A Level in law and will be exempt from studying the Level 3 and can move straight to the Level 5.
