C&G 2391 Level 3 Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations

Description 
This qualification helps you to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to professionally install and carry out periodic inspection and testing on electrical installations. It has been developed for practising electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training. The course has 3 pathways: 
  • Initial Inspection and Verification of Electrical Systems 
  • Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Systems 
  • Combined Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing

8 weeks. 
 
Certification 
C&G 2395 Level 3 Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations certificate. 
 
Location 
Afan College and Newtown College. 
Who Should Attend? 
 
The 2391-52 is aimed at experienced testers. For newly qualified technicians, the 2392 Fundamental Inspection and Testing course is recommended and more suitable. The 2392 course involves hands-on testing. 
 
Course Content 
This course covers the following topics: 
Safe isolation 
Inspection, testing and recording of system conditions 
Safe testing of systems in service 
Safe testing of circuits in service 
Safe testing of energised systems 
Inspecting test results 
 
Entry Requirements 
Those working within the electrotechnical industry who have testing experience, have recently completed their 18th Edition qualification i.e. City & Guilds 2382-18 or an equivalent, are able to complete the update course. 
 
All candidates must purchase prior to the course, the following publication: 
Inspection & Testing - Guidance Note 3 Published by Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET); 8th Edition (31 July 2018). 
 
Method of Assessment 
The course consists of classroom instruction and exercises 
with an open book multiple choice online assessment upon 
completion. All candidates must complete a 2 hour full exam in order to gain this qualification.
